A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write if he is ultimately to be at peace with himself.
~ Abraham Maslow ~
Do you sometimes feel like you are chained up in a cage? Or feel like you are inside prison walls?
If so, why do you think that is?
Is it possible that you are not being completely true to yourself? That you are living a lie?
In other words, could it be that you are not living who you â??reallyâ? are? Not doing what makes you happy or what makes you at peace with yourself?
Listenâ?¦
Listen closely to the answer you get from within.
Do you hear a voice saying yes? Then you know something's not right.
Now, the question isâ?¦
When are you going to start paying closer attention to that voice? That part of you that's crying out for help? That part of you that's constantly begging to be set free?
And, more importantly, when are you going to start doing something about it?
When are you going to start doing what you love? What you enjoy? What gives you a deep sense of fulfillment? What makes you feel whole?
When are you going to put into practice William Shakespeare's good advice below?
~~~~~~
This above all: to thine own self be true.
~~~~~~
The truth is, you can start nowâ?¦right nowâ?¦just by deciding.
You don't need anyone's permissionâ?¦except your own.
You can start doing and living what makes your heart sing.
(I'm sure you can remember many times when you felt intense joy…when you felt complete. When things just felt rightâ?¦very right. When deep down inside you, a part of you said something like: "Yes, this is what I love. This is what I am meant to do." Well, there's no reason why you can't have that feeling all the time.)
You don't need to remain chained up (or to continue living a lie). You don't have to allow society or others to dictate the way you should live, the type of work you should pursue, the types of activities you should give priority to, and so on.
No, you don't have to stay helpless inside that cageâ?¦inside those prison walls.
You have a choice.
You can decide, here and now, to break free. To do what you loveâ?¦and to do it as often as you wish.
Who cares about the past? Leave it behind you. That's where it belongs.
You can decide to live life to the fullestâ?¦starting today.
Remember, it's "your" life. And you don't have to give power to anyone (or anything) over it.
(Although others may be well-intentioned when they try to discourage you from pursuing what you love-thinking they know what's best for you-it is "you"â?¦and not themâ?¦who will end up either happy or miserableâ?¦in the short-termâ?¦and in the long-term. I mean, just imagine what it would be like, if one day, in the future, you looked back and couldn't help but say, "I wish I had lived my life differentlyâ?¦pursued what I truly love. I wish I didn't allow others to dictate the course of my life. 'Cause then I wouldn't be so miserable today.")
~~~~~~
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
~ Mark Twain ~
~~~~~~
"You decide" how you should live your life (of course, always making sure that your motives and actions are in line with what pleases God).
Life is shortâ?¦fleetingâ?¦like a vapor. (George Mateljan knew this when he said: Life is too short to spend time doing anything except what you are passionate about.)
So live life to the fullest. Do whatever makes your heart singâ?¦whatever makes you at peace with yourself. (And remember to contribute to others in positive ways whenever you can.)
Do it nowâ?¦while there's still time.

Living with Diabetes?
Take Good Care of Your Feet
Managing diabetes is more than checking your blood sugar and changing your diet.Living with diabetes means being aware of how it can affect every aspect of your health, including your feet. Healthy feet do more than help you walk and move; they help keep out infections that maycompromise your overall health.
Less Feeling, Slower Healing
Highblood glucose from diabetes can lead to nerve damage and poor bloodflow to your feet. When nerves to the legs and feet are damaged, youmight not feel pain, heat or cold as you normally would. This lack offeeling is called diabetic neuropathy. In addition, poor blood flowslows the healing process, so it takes longer for a sore or infectionto heal. This problem is called peripheral vascular disease, and it ismade worse by smoking.
As a person with diabetes, you mayexperience loss of feeling in your feet, making it difficult to detectblisters or sores that need attention. Blisters and sores may gounnoticed and turn into ulcers or become infected, which could causeserious problems. Because your body's healing process may be slower,it's very important to seek medical attention as soon as you notice asore on your foot.
Put Your Feet First
Beingproactive about caring for your feet can make a big difference in yourquality of life, and the key is awareness every day. The following tipscan help keep your feet healthy:
â?¢ Check your feet every dayfor cuts, blisters, sores, swelling, redness or sore toenails. If youhave difficulty bending over to see your feet, use a mirror or asksomeone else to check your feet. If you see a wound or sore, try tostop further irritation to the area and see your doctor. He or she canprovide additional care if the wound is infected or requires specialattention.
â?¢ Wash your feet every dayin warm water. Make sure the water temperature is not too hot bytesting with your elbow, and always dry your feet well after washing,especially in between your toes.
â?¢ Apply lotion after washing if your feet are dry. Dry, cracked skin allows infection to get under the skin, so it helps to stay moisturized.
â?¢ File corns and calluses gently after a bath or shower. Filing too harshly or cutting at corns and calluses can harm your skin and feet.
â?¢ Keep toenails trim but not too short. Cut toenails when they are soft from washing.
â?¢ Always wear shoes or slippersâ?? even around the house â?? to protect your feet from injury. Wear sockswith shoes to prevent blisters, but don't wear tight socks that may cutoff circulation.
â?¢ Wear shoes that fit well and are supportive. Check the insides of your shoes for sharp edges or objects before putting them on.

Your living room is probably the most important room in your home. It's where you unwind, where you entertain your friends, and where you spend lazy days relaxing in front of your fireplace. The way you decorate your living room will really say a lot about you. Is it formal or relaxed. Do you have antique furniture or modern. When it comes time to redecorate your living room, the most important piece of furniture is your sofa. Once you pick out a couch that will compliment your style and how you want to use your living room, everything else is easy.
If your style is casual and you want to entertain friends in your living room, consider a sectional sofa. The sectional is perfect for when you or your friends want to kick back and relax while having a great conversation or watching some TV. It's great for family time too. There are a couple ways to use a sectional. You can put it in the corner of the room, so you maximize your living space. This is great if you want to use your sofa while watching TV. Or, you can place it so that the back of the sofa splits the room in half, so to speak. That way, you create a cozy little area for conversation. If you don't have a television or fireplace in your living room, add a recliner or loveseat facing the couch. That helps further create the sociable atmosphere.
If you're looking for a more formal feeling for your living room, the standard three person sofa is one way to go. These sofas typically have a more traditional look to them. However, you can still have the seating capacity of a sectional. Pair your sofa up with a loveseat or a second sofa. Depending on how formal you want your living room, you may not have a television. But if you have a fireplace, you want your main sofa facing it. Arrange your loveseat or second sofa off to its side moving towards the fireplace. If you don't have a fireplace, you have the opportunity to design the perfect area for friends and family to gather and catch up with each other. Placing your two sofas directly opposite each other crates a nice warm gathering spot. For some, however, this may seem a little stuffy and old fashioned. If so, you can place a second sofa running diagonally on one side and other chairs or loveseat on the other side running diagonally as well. Do this so you create a triangle instead of a square, with your sofa table in the middle. This way, you can get a formal look yet contemporary feel at the same time.
So it is possible to combine formal and contemporary, you just need to use your imagination. Once you have you're couch, you can finish decorating your living room by finding pieces that match. A table with family photos or a fresh cut flowers will go with either formal or informal décor. A hutch for treasured knick knacks will also go well. Art work or a mirror for your walls. But it all starts with your sofa. Once you pick out the one that's right for you, everything else will fall into place.

The trim is currently white and we have hard wood floors
ok since you do not specify the saturation or tone of the red or of the brick or stain of the wood floors it will be a little difficult to determine what color would look best but if you are going for a warm feeling from the room then i would go with Sherwin William's warming peach the number is SW 6338 or if going for a cooler color: respite the number is SW 6514. the fireplace should be the focal point of the room (not many people have the luxury of a fireplace) and you do not want detract from it.

The popularity of houseboats is gaining strength as time goes by, especially in the United States. They have become a primary option for families and friends who would want to take a break from their daily routines and try something new. Some people would take the idea of living in a houseboat on a whole different level and turning it into a way of life.
Houseboats are basically boats which have been modified or have been designed to be able to accommodate individuals or families who would want to live afloat waters. A houseboat is (as the name implies) a combination of a boat and a house and is primarily used for the purposes of dwelling. There are houseboats which have motors and can be used to travel, while other houseboats are stationary, usually tied-up to a single place.
Houseboats all over the world
All over the world, houseboats are being patronized. There are countless numbers of styles and functions of houseboats. Some houseboats are permanent places of residence by local people, such as in Southeast Asia, while some houseboats are rented as vacation hotels. Houseboats are also popular in Kerala, India, where dense populations live by the Dal Lake. One can find the most exquisite and expensive houseboats in Europe, particularly in the waters of Amsterdam in Netherlands. Amsterdam is home to a number of houseboat- hotels which have become favorites of visiting foreigners. Aside from these houseboat-hotels, there is an estimated 2,500 families are living in houseboats in Amsterdam.
Down south, in Australia, houseboats are also well-known, especially in the River of Murray. One can find houseboats of different functions and sizes in this river. There are motorized and stationary houseboats here, some of which serve as primary residence while some are used as holiday shacks.
In U.K., the narrow boats, which traverse the canals, also serve as a dwelling place for some. One can even rent one of these boats if he needs a place to stay in for the night.
In the United States, houseboats have gained a stronghold. During the 1940s, the activity that is "houseboating" emerged as people tried to find more ways of being able to interact with water more. The modern concept of houseboating in the United States is said to have come from the waters of Lake Cumberland, which is located in Kentucky. Lake Union in Seattle is also a haven for houseboats.
Living on a houseboat
There are two main situations that come into play when thinking about living in a houseboat. The first one is that an individual or a family would like to live on a houseboat for good. The next one is that someone is thinking about living on a houseboat for a vacation. Well, if one is thinking about living on a houseboat for good, he might as well try it first to see whether he would really want to live on a houseboat permanently or not.
Living on a houseboat can be compared to a normal life in a subdivision or a rented apartment. The basic activity, which is "dwelling' basically stays the same in different locations. However, there are many factors that come into play when you live on a houseboat. Safety and security are two main things that one has to consider when looking at a houseboat. Another issue is space, a houseboat may not be as spacious as the normal house in a subdivision, if you know what I mean. Another important issue is access- when you live on a houseboat, you may have to transfer to a place which is far from other important places such as Wal-Mart or the convenience store. Other things like parking space, cost of transferring and the overall sturdiness o the houseboat should also be considered.
One might need to go into a houseboat vacation to be able to appreciate the beauty of living in a houseboat and be able to make an objective assessment whether to live in one or not. There are many companies that are offering houseboats for vacation. Just make sure that you canvass as many companies as you can to be able to spend a nice time in the boat which you would prefer.
Houseboats are nice. Living in a houseboat is also a nice thing to think about, however, it is not meant for all people. Think about it thoroughly until your mind and your heart agrees with a specific decision.
